Default 2011, another bad year in video games.

I was disappointed to see that less than 5 fantastic games were released last year. This year looks like more of the same stuff. When will games be developed for gamers, like they used to be. The day the general population stops caring about graphics and start caring about the gameplay and story of games, is the day gaming will rise to what it was in the 90s.

I for one hope d3 will be at least as good gameplay-wise than d2.

Adding to this, DLC has screwed up gaming beyond belief. For me, seeing "exclusive civilizations" for sale in Civ 5 was the final straw--don't even get me started on EA and their penchant for cutting corners and reselling them for ludicrous prices. But, hey, there's still a robust indie market thanks to publishers like Steam and Minecraft is chuggin' along at a good pace.

Publishers seem to think they can released 1/5 of an already mediocre game, then released the other 4/5 as overpriced DLC, with the game still being mediocre at best.

They had the wrong idea by passing off micro-transactions the same way we bought our crap from MMO stores. Casual gaming ain't like this. If you're going to add on any content, make it a full expansion.

More like, when the general population that plays games aren't horny 12 years old boys, but men *AND* women?
